Find out what happened to the quarians in this new Mass Effect novel

With the franchise now drifting in hypersleep, Mass Effect: Andromeda has a lot of unresolved stuff to, uh, resolve. Is Jaal even into me? Do the Tempest’s toilets flush into space or does it recycle its own waste and convert it into food? What happened to the quarians (and 20,000 other colonists on the same ship, #alienlivesmatter)? I dunno about the first two questions, but Mass Effect: Annihilation has some answers for the third one.

Written by sci-fi author and Hugo winner Catherynne M. Valente, the BioWare-official novel “chronicles the journey of the Keelah Si’yah as it carries 20,000 drell, elcor, batarian, and quarian colonists to Andromeda”, and something about a pathogen, and a ship systems failure, and – oh, what’s this? – a conspiracy. Oooooh, intriguing. I bet it involves cancelled DLC. Or maybe not. Probably not.

Book’s out in June 2018.
