Rocket League developer Psyonix has announced that the hugely popular football-on-wheels hybrid will, ahem, blast off onto Nintendo Switch on 14 November. Everyone seems to love Rocket League, and everyone definitely loves the Switch, so there you go, a match made in heaven.
The Switch version will be the full package, with all the game modes and features of the other current versions, as well as wireless local multiplayer, and it’s going to set you back $19.99 “or the regional equivalent” says Psyonix. Switch gamers also get a couple of exclusive Nintendo-flavoured Battle-Cars based on Mario, Luigi, and Metroid’s Samus. You’ll still need to unlock them through game progress though.
Rocket League is one of the flagship titles in the budding cross-play space, so you’ll be able to connect with your Xbox One and PC friends. Don’t you just love that? And yes, PlayStation fans, we’re all still waiting for Sony to climb off its high horse and join the party.
