Not so fast, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. According to publisher Take-Two’s most recent financials, GTA V has sold over 85 million copies since it launched in 2013, making it the biggest selling game ever in the US, and third in the world behind Minecraft and Tetris if you’re also including mobile sales. But first if you’re not. And more than Wii Sports, which probably doesn’t even count because it was bundled with the console. So, it’s kind of a big deal.

The number is up by five million since its 80 million sales confirmed back in May, and includes both digital and physical copies of the game on PC and consoles. Its ongoing and apparently indomitable popularity is doubtless in part due to GTA Online, which even four years on is still very much a thing with its “best quarter yet” in terms of revenue. Lots of people will pay real cash for fake cash, I guess.

In the meantime, Rockstar is definitely, maybe already working on a sequel so spend those GTA$ while you can because you probably, definitely won’t be able to import them into GTA VI. Ha.
