We were promised a new ToeJam & Earl game this year, but it turns out that developer Humanature Studios will be letting us all down and has pushed the release into the abyss of 2018. That’s okay though – I’ve been waiting a quarter of a century for another game worthy of the TJ&E name, I can wait a little longer.

Franchise co-creator Greg Johnson delivered the news of the slide into next year via the project’s Kickstarter page.

“We tried super hard to get ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove out in 2017,” said Johnson. “Game development is an inexact science and it’s our priority to deliver the best, most solid game we can. To get the game across the finish line we need to push into 2018, but rest assured we are working our butts off and you guys are going to get an awesome game.”

When it eventually makes its way out of development, TJ&E: Back in the Groove will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows, Mac, and Linux.
