Destiny 2 is getting the 4K treatment for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro next month

Destiny 2 is already a stunner, and it’s about to sharpen up dramatically. Bungie has revealed that the Destiny 2 4K-enhanced update will be rolling out to both Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro on 5 December. The update will be deployed in conjunction with the game’s first proper DLC, Curse of Osiris.

When it comes to that all-important bump in image quality, the PlayStation 4 Pro will display in adaptive 4K resolution, while those playing on Microsoft’s new machine will enjoy straight 4K. Both console versions will feature HDR lighting.

The developer hasn’t mentioned whether there will be any other improvements as we move to the mid-generation refresh consoles, but just seeing Destiny 2 running in proper 4K on a suitably monstrous television sounds like something to look forward to. Cue all the resolution junkies going on about pixels and anti-aliasing and all that.
