Destiny 2 is already a stunner, and it’s about to sharpen up dramatically. Bungie has revealed that the Destiny 2 4K-enhanced update will be rolling out to both Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro on 5 December. The update will be deployed in conjunction with the game’s first proper DLC, Curse of Osiris.

When it comes to that all-important bump in image quality, the PlayStation 4 Pro will display in adaptive 4K resolution, while those playing on Microsoft’s new machine will enjoy straight 4K.¬†Both console versions will feature HDR lighting.

The developer hasn’t mentioned whether there will be any other improvements as we move to the mid-generation refresh consoles, but just seeing Destiny 2 running in proper 4K on a suitably monstrous television sounds like something to look forward to. Cue all the resolution junkies going on about pixels and anti-aliasing and all that.
