Injustice 2 gets Turtle Power

The roster for Injustice 2 keeps growing. What started as a toybox of DC superheroes now includes Hellboy and characters from Mortal Kombat, is slowing turning it into the ultimate crossover fighting game – and the next batch of brawlers joining the fray in Fighter Pack 3 are pretty cowabunga, bro.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be joining DC characters Atom and The Enchantress, but as a child of the ’90s I’m far more excited for the reptilian martial artists. Judging by their reveal trailer, the four turtles will somehow count as one character. Perhaps two can be controlled at once, like Mortal Kombat X’s Ferra & Torr, or maybe they operate with some kind of tag feature. I don’t know, I’m not privy to NetherRealm Studios’ design notes. Anyway, grab some pizza and check out the trailer.

Surprisingly, the news has been met with considerable hatred in the comments on Twitter and Youtube. Despite the undeniable nostalgic appeal of the Turtles, it seems most Injustice 2 fans really wanted to see Spawn make an appearance. Fighter Pack 3 will be made available at an unknown date, or will be included with the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition. If you’re hankering for a superpowered brawl, the game is available for PC, PS4, and XBO, and check out our review to see a grown man gushing over it.
