Right, so specialist Japanese gaming outlet Gematsu (via V-Jump magazine, remember those?) has the low down on a trio of new fighters being added to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. They’ve got some fabulous special moves and so on, although I’ll be honest, I don’t have a clue what they’re talking about, but is sounds smashing.

The already substantial fighter list now also includes Gotenks, Kid Buu, and Adult Gohan. They have super moves with names like Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball and Ultimate Kamehameha, and as such should probably not be trifled with. We also now know a little more about the planned in-game shop where players can buy alternate colour variations with their earned Zeni – that’s Dragon Ball Z currency. Although if you’ve read this far without clicking away, you probably already know that. Oh, and there’s apparently also an Arcade Mode where you “fight a predetermined number of battles,” says Gematsu. “The route will change depending on whether you win or lose.”

As for those newly added contenders, here are their fight stats, in case you’re busy compiling some sort of fight plan for world domination.

Gotenks

  • Power: 3
  • Speed: 4
  • Reach: 1
  • Technique: 3
  • Energy: 4

Kid Buu

  • Power: 4
  • Speed: 4
  • Reach: 3
  • Technique: 4
  • Energy: 4

Adult Gohan

  • Power: 3
  • Speed: 4
  • Reach: 3
  • Technique: 4
  • Energy: 2

Dragon Ball FighterZ is set for release towards the end of January 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
