I can’t believe I just wrote that headline. December? Just this morning I could swear I was picking bits of Easter egg chocolate out of my belly button, and now it’s almost Christmas. But yes, December indeed. And with it comes a new selection of free games for the Xbox family of consoles, laid out, as always, by good old Major Nelson.
Headlining the December lineup is Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide, a kind of Left 4 Dead-with-beards-and-swords affair which was unfairly overlooked by the masses. It’s out for the full month of December on Xbox One, while Telltale Games’ Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition will be available from 16 December.
Xbox 360 gamers get Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s enchanting acid trip Child of Eden for the first half of the month, and then from 16 December it will be replaced by Generic-Man-and-the-Mysterious-Artefact-’em-up, Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death. Those, as always, are backward-compatible so you give them a go on your Xbox One as well.
