Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear spin-off, Metal Gear Survive is out towards the end of February next year, and to make sure the game is in good shape by release day, the publisher has announced that there will be an open beta running from 18-21 January.
The announcement comes along with a new trailer showing off the inner workings of the single-player campaign. The beta will offer players a chance to try out Metal Gear Survive’s co-op component, building base defences and taking on waves of zombie-like enemies. This spin-off seems to have spun quite far off from the core franchise, so I’m grateful Konami is actioning an open beta so we can give it a fair go before it hits store shelves.
While the game is coming the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the beta will be console only, and should you then decide to buy the full game upon its 20 February release, you’ll score a few in-game cosmetic bits and pieces.
