The rumours which were swirling around in November last year have turned out to be true, with Ubisoft confirming that Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will indeed be on the receiving end of a nifty remastering, hitting Xbox One and PS4 in March this year. See? I wasn’t just talking for the sake of filling my news quota back then. We were really onto something.
One of the less exciting Assassin’s Creed games, Rogue slipped in canonically between Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed 3, and very few people cared very much. We were just so tired of Assassin’s Creed back then. Anyway, now that the franchise is on the up and up, Rogue will have a second chance to go for glory, this time with “improved environment rendering, visual effects, and textures.”
If your mom bought you an Xbox One X or PS4 Pro for Chrimbo, bless her soul, you’ll be able to enjoy Assassin’s Creed: Rogue in 4K, so be warned, it’s going to be pointy and crisp and sharp and all that good stuff that comes with these newfangled mid-generation consoles. All versions, across both New! Improved! and not so special consoles, will include all post-launch DLC, so you’ll get the Armor of Sir Gunn Quest and Siege of Fort de Sable bonus missions, and the Master Templar and Explorer Packs too.
20 March, that’s your release date. So, if you’ve played through AC: Origins (brilliant), AC: Syndicate (stylish and lovely) and AC: Black Flag (oh, so piratey), then you might want to give this one a look.
