Age of Empires: Definitive Edition has been given a mid-February release date

Originally planned for release in October last year, Forgotten Empires clearly felt that Age of Empires: Definitive Edition needed to go back in the oven for a bit and broke all our hearts by delaying the game at the last minute. It’s still not quite ready, apparently, but we’re getting close – the developer has announced that the definitive edition of one of the most popular RTS games of all time will be with us on 20 February.

To make sure your historical warfare is without hiccup on launch day Forgotten Empires has also made it known that there will be one last testing phase, and while it’s still a closed beta they are letting a whole lot more people into the party this time. You’ll have to sign up for the Age of Empires Insider program if you want to be one of the 100,000 gamers who will get to take part, so here’s a link for that sign-up. Nice of me, ‘ey?
