Here’s a teaser trailer for that Harry Potter mobile RPG we told you about last year
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment got all the Potter-heads whipped up in a frenzy (well, frenzy is a strong word. Let’s just say the kids were pleased) in December last year by revealing an all new mobile-based RPG set in the Harry Potter universe. All we had then was a logo on a black background. And now, thanks to the magic of trickle marketing, we have a proper teaser. See, that December thing, that was just the pre-tease, like Emma Watson knotting a cherry stalk with her tongue.
The new teaser gives us a proper look at the game’s visual style, hints at the gameplay, and lays to rest any ridiculous conspiracy theories about this game being very good. I kid, I’m sure it will be lovely. I’m not really going to say too much more, though, because last time I said something in jest regarding something loosely connected to ol’ Hairy Plopper, I was given a lecture in Potter-esque education systems and below-ground architecture.
So let’s just keep it tidy, shall we?
The trailer sets the scene for the upcoming RPG, telling us all that our letter has arrived inviting us to Hogwarts, where you will “master spells and magic skills,” “attend classes with Hogwarts professors,” and “choose your friends and battle your rivals,” all part of your efforts to create your own Hogwarts story. If you watched the trailer above then you’ll already know that and I’m sorry to have wasted your time. Still no word on what the actual mystery, as alluded to in the game’s title, will turn out to be. Probably something about a missing wizard’s knobbly staff.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery hasn’t been given a release date as of yet, but is set for release on iOS and Android devices once it’s done.
