Beat Saber is a megamix of Guitar Hero and Star Wars

So you wanna be a Jedi. But you also wanna drop phat beats in the club on Friday nights. In Czech studio Hyperbolic Magnetism’s VR psychedelic techno rhythm game Beat Saber, decide between these two, you will not.

Although it’s not actually officially affiliated with Star Wars – presumably because of expensive franchise licensing issues – Beat Saber’s, uh, beat sabers are basically no-name brand laser swords that players use to slash ‘n’ smash a series of Imperial cubes to make music, and one day maybe even get your own gig at the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Game’s out on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PS4 sometime this year.
