Holster that six-shooter, cowboy, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed (again)
There’s good news and there’s bad news. Actually, there’s bad news and then there’s a thinly veiled attempt to help us all get over the bad news. You already know what the bad news says, as it’s right there in the headline – the eagerly awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed from its previous “early 2018” launch, and is scheduled now to mosey on out in October this year.
“We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018,” said Rockstar Games in a brief letter to the fans. “We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.”
Polish. It’s always polish, isn’t it? Polish is any developers get-out-of-jail-free card, because they know we want our games polished so vigorously that we can see our sweaty faces in the reflection. Polish away, Rockstar, we have faith in you. Unless I’ve been reading it wrong all these years and it’s meant to be Polish, like, someone from Poland. Perhaps, before a game is ready for production, it’s sent to Poland. Or Polish is the guy from Poland’s nickname and he’s like the world’s greatest game developer ever, so almost all games get delayed eventually because they “require a little extra time for Polish”.
Well, Polish, wrap it up, buckaroo. We’ve waited quite some time for Red Dead Redemption 2, and suffered through a delay or two along the way already. Oh, and the thinly veiled attempt by Rockstar Games to make us overlook yet another delay? A fresh batch of Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots. Just enough for us to see how amazing this game is looking, and to piss us off all over again at the thought of waiting even longer to get our hands on it.
