Maybe it’s a case of first world problems, but how are we supposed to get through our backlogs of unfinished – let alone unplayed – games when publishers keep pulling audacious stunts like this? The impeccable Far Cry 3 as a bundled treat along with the season pass for Far Cry 5? Ridiculous.
Far Cry 3 was a stunner, arguably the best in the series so far, and Far Cry 5 is shaping up quite nicely too. So, the idea of getting the one with the other, well, I’m sure you can see why this is a deal worth getting in on. Buy the Far Cry 5 Gold Edition or pick up the season pass as a standalone purchase and the Far Cry 3 Classic Edition is all yours, featuring the 2012 hit’s single-player campaign. It doesn’t seem to be a remastering or reworking of the original though, before you start expecting to see fancy 4K excitement and so on. Before we move on, Far Cry 3 Classic Edition will be available four weeks before Far Cry 5 is released.
There has also been fresh news regarding the rest of the content included in the season pass, and it’s some pretty left-field stuff. For your money you’ll get a trio of action movie cliches: Dead Living Zombies, Hours of Darkness, and Lost on Mars. Ubisoft doesn’t seem to be playing it safe here, but that all sounds a lot more interesting than the usual schedule of tired multiplayer maps and reskinned heroes.
Far Cry 5 is out on 27 March, and I reckon it’s going to be worth checking out.
