If you’re one of the early adopters of the first Apple TV, or still use Windows XP or Vista without worrying about security (seriously, if you’re still an XP user, DM me. I want to know why), Apple will soon drop support for those platforms to access the iTunes Store. Over the weekend an Apple support document outlined that security changes to the platform would effectively cut support from older software and hardware. The changes affect consumer’s ability to access the store or download purchased items, so this is a forced upgrade of sorts. Users on Windows XP and Vista will still be able to download iTunes to back up and restore iPhones and iPads, but that’s the extent of it.
