Some people just want to watch the world burn in the first Fahrenheit 451 trailer

HBO has dropped the debut trailer for its dystopian sci-fi movie Fahrenheit 451, and it’s super hot. Because everything is on fire.

Based on Ray Bradbury’s subversive novel of the same name, Fahrenheit 451 is about a not entirely implausible future in which anti-intellectualism rules, and special operatives – or “firemen” – are employed to burn illegal books as part of the government’s campaign to eliminate critical, independent thinking among citizens. The book has, unironically, been subject to censorship and attempts to ban it from schools in the US, most recently in 2006. Because obviously.

The movie stars Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan as protagonist Guy Montag, and is expected to launch sometime in May.
