I wasn’t going to bother with this until something was proper confirmed, one way or another, but sources are pretty sure that it is a thing: Blizzard’s seminal action RPG, Diablo 3, is apparently heading to Nintendo Switch, even if Blizzard claims it isn’t.

It started with the above tweet, showing a Diablo-esque light being switched on and off in the dark. Diablo, with a switch. Get it?
Seems pretty clear, and the gaming public went thermonuclear, but Blizzard quickly threw sand on our excitement. “We can assure you we’re not that clever,” said a Blizzard Entertainment spokesperson, in an email to Polygon. “[It was] meant to be a fun community engagement piece. We have nothing to announce.”
Since then, despite Blizzard denying it, Eurogamer has cited sources which claim that a port of Diablo 3 really is happening. Unfortunately we don’t know anything more, but Eurogamer clearly trusts these unnamed sources well enough to run the story, which is good enough for me. It’s only a matter of time before we see either more concrete leaks, something official from Blizzard, or, worst case scenario, the original sources prove to be nothing but hot air. If that initial tweet really was nothing more than a community engagement piece, that’s pretty damn cheeky of Blizzard, getting us all worked up for nothing.
