Oh boo, that Fallout 3 remake in Fallout 4 has been nuked

… But this isn’t exactly a megaton bomb, is it? Even the headline on my other article about this thing suggested you take a look “before Bethesda inevitably shuts it down”, and now it’s shut down, and I told you so, although this time it wasn’t actually Bethesda’s decision.

Developed by modder-fan collective Road to Liberty, Capital Wasteland is was a Fallout 4 Creation Engine total conversion mod including “quests, dialogue, and all locations” from Fallout 3, but with a different green filter. According to a statement from the guys on Twitter, the team has dropped the project due to potential legal problems with using the original game’s voice files, which included work by celebrities Liam Neeson, Ron Perlman, and Malcolm McDowell.

Although they might’ve simply re-recorded the audio, “without these voices fallout 3 looses its charm and personally I can’t bring my self to replace Them [sic],” explains project lead NafNaf_95.

So that’s that.
