Blizzard has announced Hearthstone’s seventh expansion, The Witchwood, featuring 135 new cards, a new single-player mode, and a hundred million new ways to lose to a smug 10-year old.
“Dark magic has twisted the creatures of the forest and set them loose upon the Gilnean capital in Azeroth, but King Genn Greymane and his lycanthropic subjects won’t make for easy prey,” explains the press stuff. “The citizens of this proud kingdom, who can shapeshift into ferocious wolf-beasts known as worgen, are bringing the fight to The Witchwood with tooth and claw—and soon, Hearthstone players will join the pack and help them face down the horrors within.”
The expansion introduces a new “Echo” keyword, which lets you play the same card multiple times until you’re out of mana, and “Rush” cards which – somewhat like “Charge” cards – can be used immediately, but only against minions, not heroes. In the new single-player Monster Hunt mode, you’ll choose one of four unique heroes and venture, dauntless, into the Witchwood to survive a series of eight brawls and a final boss battle.
