The entire Banner Saga trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch this year

You may or may not know this, but The Banner Saga is the greatest game franchise ever created (citation needed). And it’s coming to Nintendo Switch later this year, so that Nintendo fans’ lives can also be enriched beyond belief.

Admittedly, not everyone agrees with me when it comes to Stoic’s epic saga being the greatest of all time. Hell, I don’t even agree with myself (Because we all know that GTA IV, Skyrim and the original Quake are all already the greatest games ever created).  But as far as epic sagas go, it’s bloody fantastic. And it’s coming to your beloved Switch.

“As the epic conclusion to the award-winning Banner Saga trilogy of mature, story-driven role-playing games, players will need to brace themselves for tough battles, difficult choices and tragic losses,” reads the Nintendo announcement, disrespectfully slotted unceremoniously among all kinds of other lesser games. I jest, of course. I’m sure some of the other games are lovely.

We don’t know when the final episode or it’s brilliant predecessors will be with us, but the assumption is that the first two will be out in advance of Banner Saga 3, which is out “Summer 2018”, to give everyone a chance to catch up. Or all three could show up at once, like some three-horned beast laden with Nordic narrative treasure.

Should I editorialise for an hour about why these games are so amazing? Probably not. But they are.
