Right, so that’s my entry for Worst Pun in a Headline Ever. But I’m going with it. Because Tarryn is on leave so I’m being extra brave. Anyway, so the news here is that Capcom has nailed down a release date for the absolutely massive omnibus of Street Fighter titles, now set to hit PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch on 29 May.
Capcom also revealed the pre-order bonus content which you will receive if you feel it’s necessary to plonk your cash down in advance, for some reason. If you’re a PC, PS4 or Xbox One user, you will have the impressive Ultra Street Fighter 4 thrown in, while Switch users get Super Street Fighter 2: The Tournament Battle, a previously arcade-only rendition of the core game played on 4 networked arcade cabinets. The tournament structure should translate well to the Switch’s mobile form factor, needing four consoles and eight controllers to set up a tournament.
Before I go, here’s a quick reminder of the titles included in Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (excluding pre-order bonuses):
- Street Fighter
- Street Fighter 2
- Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition
- Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting
- Super Street Fighter 2
- Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Street Fighter 3
- Street Fighter 3: 2nd Impact
- Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
