The next content drop for Sledgehammer Games’ popular Call of Duty WW2 has been announced, bringing with it three new multiplayer maps, a new War Mode mission, and a new Zombies Mode chapter. As usual, it’s coming to PlayStation 4 first – on 10 April – and then to PC and Xbox One a little further down the line.
For the standard multiplayer maps, The War Machine takes players from Dunkirk in France, to the pyramids of Giza, and finally to a V2 rocket test facility in Germany. Operation Husky is your new War Mode mission, where you’re to gather and transmit intel on enemy ports in Sicily, escalating into aerial warfare as you protect the bombers sent to blast big holes in the marked targets.
The Shadowed Throne is your new zombie death adventure. There’s a fire raging through Berlin, and the good guys are up against the naughty Doktor Straub and his Nazi minions as they work to put an end to the Allied forces. It all sounds rather sinister, if you ask me.
If that’s your kind of jam, then point your PS4 towards the marketplace on 10 April to get hold of The War Machine DLC, currently listed at R239.00. It says “Play map packs 30 days early” on the DLC info page, which indicates that Xbox One and PC gamers should be able to get in on the action sometime around middle May.
