Lazy Bear Games has dug up a gameplay reveal trailer for Graveyard Keeper

We’ve finally got our first look at Graveyard Keeper, the upcoming Stardew Valley-esque management sim with a macabre twist, in action, thanks to a new trailer which shows off a sizeable chunk of gameplay. You’ll see the eponymous graveyard keeper extracting organs from corpses, burying things, scurrying around in the moonlight, and generally taking care of business.

What you’ll also see is that Graveyard Keeper is so brazenly reminiscent of Stardew Valley, it’s hard to believe it’s not a ConcernedApe production. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, I adore Stardew Valley and I don’t care who knows it, but just looking like a more detailed version of that classic game isn’t enough, and Lazy Bear Games will have to match its heart and personality too. Going by the gameplay footage shown so far, Graveyard Keeper clearly has its own flavour – you’re unlikely to find witch burnings, river poisonings or grave digging in the Stardew Valley countryside.

So far it’s shaping up nicely, with a dark but playful take on the management sim concept. It’s one that Lazy Bear doesn’t want us to take too seriously, with the developer calling Graveyard Keeper “the most inaccurate medieval graveyard simulator of 2018″.

Graveyard Keeper will be released later this year on PC and Xbox One.
