Helping to keep you distracted from the very important business of doing whatever it is you’re supposed to do in God of War, the game’s photo mode has launched, including custom facial expressions so you can disguise your existential despair just like in real life.

Accessible via the options menu or the controller touchpad, God of War’s photo mode features more or less everything you could want, like camera controls, lens and depth-of-field adjustments, composition tools, colour filters, effects, and overlays.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, game engineering lead Jeet Shroff shares some of the studio’s own efforts:

“With Photo Mode, players will be able to unleash their creativity and experience the world, its fast paced combat, the beautifully crafted environments and its deadly characters like never before,” he explains. “With player choice being such a central theme to many of the decisions we made on God of War, we sought to deliver a Photo Mode with lots of options and we’re excited to put it in your hands!”
