So, this is a new one. Somehow, a presumably incomplete, unplayable version of Forza Horizon 4 was made available on PC over the weekend (ooooops). A guy on Reddit who’d pre-ordered it discovered the game in his download queue, and – like anybody else who realises they have access to an unreleased game – excavated the folders for important things to tell the internet.
According to Reddit user daten-shi, the game’s “Cars” folder includes over 450 cars, although whether this is the final launch roster or also DLC or not or what is obviously unconfirmed for now. Elsewhere, Reddit user willbsn13 has sorted the same list by year and manufacturer for your convenience, plus some extra speculation. In the meantime, the Forza emergency pit crew has acknowledged the mistake on Twitter, explaining somewhat unnecessarily that the download was “not intended”.
Today, some of you noticed Forza Horizon 4 game files preloading on your PCs. This was not intended and you don’t have to do anything. The final game will download automatically when it is released. If you’d like, you can safely uninstall the downloaded files.
Predictably enough, responses to the leaked list are kind of mixed, with a lot of people complaining about this, that, and the other car being or not being on it, and – for whatever reason – some drama about reusing game assets.
Forza Horizon 4 launches on PC and Xbox One on 2 October.
