Cooler Master’s TUF family extends to a whole range of components that make up almost an entire PC (almost, because the only thing missing is TUF-branded 2.5-inch and M.2 solid state drives), and that also includes the new MasterWatt TUF range. These are semi-modular power supplies painted to match the exterior colour of the MasterWatt MB500 TUF Edition, and is also covered in ASUS’s custom-designed digi-camo vinyl wrap. Writing about power supplies in a sexy way is difficult, so hit the jump to see me try.
The MasterWatt family is a set of new OEM designs from Cooler Master (with the exception of the in-house VG series, which will debut later this year), and is based on a design chosen by Cooler Master, licensed and manufactured by HEC Corporation. It is a Dual Forward and DC-DC circuit design with a single 12v rail that uses 85C Teapo Capacitors, cooled by a 120mm Sickleflow fan by Cooler Master that uses a fluid bearing to increase reliability and reduce noise.
The MasterWatt TUF family includes 450W, 550W, 650W, and 750W units, and all ship with a five-year limited warranty. The semi-modular cables help keep clutter to a minimum, and are sheathed with black shielding to help it blend in to the black interior of the MB500 TUF Edition case. Surprisingly, the interior fan isn’t an RGB unit, but if you’re determined enough you could pop one in there (voiding the warranty in the process, though).
Cooler Master’s MasterWatt TUF family will become available in 2H 2018 in the EMEA region, although pricing is not yet available. You can check out the rest of the TUF lineup from ASUS and partners here.
