South Park: The Stick of Truth will be hitting Nintendo Switch next week

Ubisoft will be bringing the surprisingly brilliant South Park: The Stick of Truth to Nintendo Switch next week, around five months after its slightly inferior (but still worth a laugh, and currently going hella cheap for one more day on Xbox One) sequel showed up on Nintendo’s mini wonderbox.

The Stick of Truth was probably the first South Park game which really captured the comedic essence of the show, largely because of the direct involvement of series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, so if you enjoy the show you can expect more of the same here. Beyond that, the RPG framework here is actually really good – we all expected a shallow license cash-in, but there’s a proper game going on here, not just fart jokes and quick time events.

25 September is when this all goes down on Switch, but if you’re a fan of little plastic cartridges let me warn you that South Park: The Stick of Truth will available as a digital download only.
