Okay, so more than a fistful, but not actual dollars. GTA$1,000,000 to be precise. In a digital age where the concept of pre-ordering makes very little sense at all, bonuses like this are really all publishers can do to tempt gamers to buy an unproven product. And we fall for it every time.
Anyone who has pre-ordered any digital version of Red Dead Redemption 2 just needs to log into GTA Online to claim the hefty sum. If you’ve yet to put your money down for what clearly clairvoyant critics are already calling the game of the year, you’ve got until 15 October to do so if you want to qualify for the cash bonus.
Just to reiterate, you don’t have to pre-order anymore, people. Digital games do not sell out, you don’t have to queue at your local game boutique at the mall at midnight like I did for the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition anymore. But if you insist on paying in advance, you may as well get something out of it. And GTA$1,000,000 is a good place to start. Your pretend money will be deposited into your pretend bank account sometime between 16 October and 22 October, otherwise you should go shout at your pretend bank manager.
There are other discounts and rewards going on right now for GTA Online, but it’s all rather complicated for someone who isn’t interested in such things, so head on over to the official site for the details.
