MSSA to host South Africa’s first inter-varsity esports championship in 2019

Local esports organisation Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) has announced its inaugural inter-varsity championships, inviting students currently enrolled at tertiary education institutions to compete with each other for provincial colours and eligibility for the 2019 national team trials. Double whammy!’

The competition is open to esports clubs officially recognised by the university or college in which students are registered, and participation is also open to those students who play for other, unaffiliated esports clubs like White Rabbit, Bravado, and Damage Control.

Besides earning provincial colours, winners will be able to try out for MSSA’s 2019 national Protea team selection, which will attend the International Esports Federation (IeSF) World Championships.
