Red Dead Redemption 2 banks over $700 million in three days while my camp funds are at like $2.10 and this is the real injustice

I mean, maybe Rockstar parent company Take-Two should be next on the Van Der Linde gang’s to-rob list because selling rat pelts is totally not working out for us. “Go west,” they said. “Sell rat pelts,” they said. “That’s the American Dream,” they said.

The American Dream is a lie.

Launched on Friday 26 October, Red Dead Redemption 2 sales cashed in some $725 million over the weekend, Take-Two confirmed in a press release, making it not only the biggest opening weekend for a game, but the biggest opening weekend in the entertainment business ever, busting Avengers: Infinity War’s $640 million.

Although GTA V grossed more than $1 billion in the same time, it launched on a Tuesday and doesn’t count, except in the publisher’s bank account. Whether or not Red Dead Redemption 2’s sales will manage to exceed GTA V’s total $6 billion-plus revenue remains to be seen, but whatever its earnings, it’s definitely a much more lucrative product than rat pelts.
