You can go to hell in November’s Games with Gold freebies on Xbox

And not once, but twice. But two different kinds of hell, because one is metaphorical, and the other one is much more literal. Or is it literary? It’s both. ARE YOU INTRIGUED? I am, and I already know what the games are. Or I’m hungry. I dunno, it can be hard to tell between those two.

So, the metaphorical one is DICE’s trenches-and-tragedy sim Battlefield 1, and Visceral’s Dante’s Inferno – based on Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy – is the literalerary one. Obviously. You totally guessed it! The other games include bizarre arcade speeder Race the Sun and the original stab-’em-up Assassin’s Creed for those three people who missed it the first time.

As per regularly scheduled programming, the next compilation of Xbox Live Games with Gold is available exclusively for Gold subscribers, and for a limited time, and features two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games that are also backwards compatible on Xbox One.

What’s what:

  • Battlefield 1 (1 – 30 November, on Xbox One)
  • Race the Sun (16 November – 15 December, on Xbox One)
  • Assassin’s Creed (1 – 15 November, on Xbox 360 with backwards compatibility on Xbox One)
  • Dante’s Inferno (16 – 30 November, on Xbox 360 with backwards compatibility on Xbox One)
Piles of dead horses showed up in Red Dead Online, but it was just a bug
Those piles of dead horses in Red Dead Online probably aren’t a teaser for Undead Nightmare 2
