Rocket League has one last update lined up for 2018, and, among other things, it will deliver a suite of enhancements to the Xbox One X version of the hugely popular vehicular soccer sim.
If you’re packing an Xbox One X, and you’ve gone and bought a 4K TV to impress the neighbours, your Rocket League is about to get a bit of a boost. Once the December update hits, the Xbox One X version will run at 60FPS in proper native 4K, with HDR support as the icing on the cake. If you’ve got the console but haven’t made the jump to a 4K TV yet – or, as in my case, your beloved 4K baby fell off a table to its doom the other day – you will still notice a difference using a standard FHD TV via supersampling.
Other changes coming with the December update – which will be making its way to all platforms on 3 December – include the following:
- Leaderboards for Ranked Extra Modes
- Changes to the XP/ Progression System, including more Weekly Win Bonuses
- A brand new ‘Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 5’ EP
- New Community Flags for Extra Life, Speedy, and another still TBA
