Rockstar has confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2’s multiplayer beta is giddied up and ready to go, with early access available today for those of you who purchased the game’s Ultimate Edition.

To “mitigate major issues”, according to an update on the studio’s blog, and presumably avoid the server apocalypse that accompanied the launch of GTA Online in 2013, the beta is rolling out over several days:

  • Tuesday, 27 November: Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition owners
  • Wednesday, 28 November: Everybody who played the game on 26 October, when it launched
  • Thursday, 29 November: Everybody who played between 26 and 29 October
  • Friday, 30 November: Everybody else, you lazy bastards

“During this process, we will be looking to our dedicated community to help us report and fix problems, share ideas, and assist in shaping the future of the full Online experience,” Rockstar explains. “As with all of our releases, we will strive to make the launch of Red Dead Online the best it can possibly be, and we ask that the community share that spirit with us over the next weeks and months.”
