Elder Scrolls Online is heading to Elsweyr for its next major update

Bethesda has announced that The Elder Scrolls Online will be expanding to the sands and mystery of Elsewyr in June this year, as part of what has been dubbed the “Season of the Dragon”, which kicks off with the Wrathstone DLC, and wraps up with two further DLC packs to be released in the second half of the year to close the dragon-related story arc.

Elder Scrolls players will remember Elsewyr as the homeland of the cat-like Khajiit, which I have only just realised sounds like “cat shit” when you say it with a Khajiiti accent, and that’s either totally lame or pure comic gold, depending on who you ask. For the upcoming chapter, dragons are once again darkening the skies, and players will be faced with new standalone quests, public dungeons, a 12-player trial called Sunspire, and a major quest thread to battle through.

There’s a new player class too, putting interested parties in the bony boots of the necromancer. This class gives players the power over the dead, to raise armies of the undead and basically do all the dastardly, unclean things necromancers do.

Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr swoops down onto Xbox One, PS4 and PC on 4 June.
