The Witcher TV show is “like, really not” for kids

That’s according to series writer and producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who recently watched some footage with her son. Which was a mistake, apparently.

The news isn’t exactly… news, though, is it? The Witcher games are rated for M-for-MMMMM and feature scenes of violence, nudity, and sex, so it makes sense that the show would be more of the same. But now we know, and unless you want to explain to your children what the man and the lady are doing with the nice unicorn and how that even works, maybe keep it for when they’re tucked up in bed with their innocence unviolated.

The Witcher is expected to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2020, and stars Henry Cavill as monster hunter-for-hire Geralt of Rivia, with Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri.
