As the Mortal Kombat 11 hype train chugs merrily across the US, NetherRealm Studios scheduled a Kombat Kast livestream event for 30 January that would reveal some more information about the characters included in the game. Unfortunately, due to the Sub-Zero, hur hur, conditions caused by the polar vortex, it had to be delayed to 5 February at 23:00 SAST.
In order to somewhat appease fans, they announced that everyone’s least favourite Australian cyborg, Kano, would be returning for MK11.
Fun fact: In the original game, Kano was Japanese-American, but was portrayed with a Cockney accent in the 1995 movie, which was misinterpreted as Australian, so his character became Australian ever after. I’m sure someone, somewhere, should be offended by that.
Kabal has also been teased for reveal and, if you pre-order, you get Shao Khan as a bonus character, but you’ll have to wait for 5 February to find out who else has been summoned. Mortal Kombat 11 comes out 23 April 2019. Then all our spelling can go back to normal.
