CLICKBAIT: Fyre Festival, aliens, conspiracy theories, and more

Clickbait is your weekly wrap up of interesting and must-watch videos you’ve missed this week. This list is produced as a result of procrastination, caffeine, and late-night YouTube link surfing. Some videos will amaze you and some will bore you to death – you’ve been warned. Also, check out the secret link at the end of the article.

Fyre Festival 2019 is coming

If you have not seen one of the documentaries on this spectacular disaster fest, I urge you to check ‘em out on Netflix or Hulu, and I’ve also seen some floating around YouTube. Now some clever blokes have put together a trailer for Fyre Fest 2019, check it out.

Brian Cox on alien life (Joe Rogan Podcast)

Joe Rogan’s podcast is part of my weekly staple and this week he chatted to Brian Cox, one of the smartest people on this planet. In this clip, Joe asks the question we’ve all thought about – do aliens exist? The answer is more complex than you think. It’s also worth spending time checking out the full show here.

Foldable phones aren’t ready (yet)

Marques Brownlee, also known as MKBHD, takes a closer look at foldable phones, its tech and why it’s not so great… yet. I think there’s a huge opportunity for foldable devices but as with any tech, we’ll need to see how it matures.

rAge 2018 Aftermovie

The rAge 2018 aftermovie has been released! Check out what went down at South Africa’s original gaming and geek fest. Only 236 days to rAge 2019.

Conspiracy Theories with Shane Dawson

In case you did not know, Shane Dawson is one of YouTube’s top content creators and has amassed over 20 million followers on his channel. Part of his claim to fame has been conspiracy theory videos and this week he launched his latest video on the subject. It’s a little long, and a little dramatic, but it’s trending so it must be good right?

Vines that keep me from ending it all

I still cry a little inside every time I think of Vine. It was my favourite social media app. Fortunately, most of the best Vine’s made their way onto YouTube. I regularly fire up a compilation, I call it a stress purge. Your challenge, should you choose to accept, is try not to laugh. First person to smile loses. Good luck.

The Magic is strong with Day[9]

For some strange reason, I’ve become obsessed with Magic the Gathering play videos. Never played the game in my life, maybe its all the pretty pictures. Either way, my favourite series on the topic is Spellslingers on Geek & Sundry’s channel. Here’s one episode to get you started.

Music video of the week: Jidenna – Bambi

Great video, awesome tune, I bet you won’t be expecting that bassline. Jidenna is an American/Nigerian rapper and this tune is unlike anything you’ve heard this week.
Enjoy your weekend geeks! Stay safe out there.
