Nothing can stop the nostalgia train as legendary RPGs resurrected for console play

The enhanced editions of the Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and Planescape: Torment games series have been available for PC for some time, but why should the Master Race get all the fun? They shouldn’t, so Skybound Games, the fine people that saved The Walking Dead: The Final Season from an awkward demise, are teaming up with Beamdog to bring these D&D classics to consoles as well. Beamdog is the team that originally developed the enhanced versions for PC.

The enhanced Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate ll, Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights will be released for consoles as digital and physical copies some time this year. More details to come from Skybound Games in the coming months.

I’m all for older games getting snazzed up for a new generation, I’ve been talking very loudly for months about just how much I would pay for Red Dead Redemption to gain the horse mechanics of RDR2. Then I could just spend my days in an endless, mildly depressing loop. Don’t you judge me. I loved my horse before it was cool, dammit!

Baldur’s Gate is pretty neat too, I guess. These enhanced editions will be available to play on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
