Proving that, actually, it isn’t just the same game every year with improved graphics, 2019’s Call of Duty game features a campaign. Which 2018’s Call of Duty didn’t. So that’s INNOVATION, for the first time since last time.
In a recent earnings call, Activision boss Rob Kostich confirmed that whatever is it, the game introduces an “entirely new campaign, a huge and expansive multiplayer world, and some fun co-op gameplay”.
This year is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare sub-series studio Infinity Ward’s turn, prompting inevitable speculation on the internet that – guess what, you guessed it – a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game is in development. The same studio was also responsible for 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts and 2016’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, though, so who even knows, anyway. I mean, maybe it’s Call of Duty: Medieval Warfare. I’d probably play that.
