Fallout 2 and Planescape: Torment designer Chris Avellone is working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Oooooh, now this is intriguing. We won’t know much more about Respawn’s Star Wars game until next month, but in the meantime, veteran game designer Chris Avellone has unexpectedly confirmed his involvement in the project (and something else).
I can’t say 100% b/c of NDAs, but the ones I can say: I just finished up work with Jedi: The Fallen Order – and beyond that, there’s another big bomb dropping in a month! Er, I mean, maybe. Ahem.
This is a big deal because Avellone’s résumé is a what’s-what list of RPG classics like Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader, Neverwinter Nights 2, Pillars of Eternity, and and and. This guy is like the RPG designer.
And Avellone’s description on LinkedIn for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is even more intriguing.
Jedi are basically space monks who use telekinesis, mind control, and occasional bursts of lasersword violence in order to impose their values on the rest of the galaxy.
I mean, I don’t want to speculate too much for the moment, but if this game exposes the gross hypocrisy of the Jedi Order, I’m totally into it. What gross hypocrisy? Oh, you know – the abducting kids, the midi-chlorian genetics ideology, the extra-judicial executions of political opponents, the total lack of accountability, the egregious disregard for democratic process, that sort of thing. The Empire is bad, but the Jedi are even worse, DON’T @ ME.
