Original Resident Evil gets the 80s sitcom treatment and it’s kinda perfect

The opening sequence from the original Resident Evil has been given the retro sitcom treatment, but, to be fair, it was halfway there already.

You may recall, way back in 1996, the creative opening sequence that seamlessly blended live action with the start of the game. Resident Evil’s opening sequence was a glorious B movie homage with stellar acting and quality special effects. You probably thought it was pretty gosh darn rad at the time. It’s okay, you probably thought Hercules: The Legendary Journeys was cool too. It was a simpler time.

Our hero of the day is GreyGhost Mike, for creating this 80s sitcom intro version of the Resident Evil opening sequence, so that it could reach its full potential. Why did he do it? Because he could. The world could do with a few more GreyGhost Mike’s.

So, stay alert, because it’s time to learn some valuable life lessons about the importance of teamwork and friendship. It’s not the Resident Evil series we deserve, but maybe it’s the one we need right now.
