When the trailer states things like “IT’S NOT A GAME ANYMORE” and “YOUR MISSION: DON’T DIE” in writing, you kind of know what sort of movie you’re getting yourself into. This new film adaptation of Doom won’t see the inside of a cinema (or the Academy Awards show, but it’s got nothing to do with Steven Spielberg) because it’s launching direct-to-video and streaming services. But on the plus side, it’s produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura of The Meg, Deepwater Horizon, and Transformers fame, so it’s got a bit of… something behind it. Not Bethesda, though.
