Gearbox is teasing a reveal for something that’s maybe, probably, but like almost definitely Borderlands 3

The studio’s worst-kept secret is back in the news (again) this week with this tweet. It’s not exactly subtle.

Now, 28 March is totally coincidentally the same day Gearbox is hosting a presentation at PAX East, promising “never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises”. So pretend to be surprised, okay?

Although never actually announced – unless you count Randy Pitchford confirming that “obviously there’s going to be another Borderlands” – development on a new sequel has been ongoing since about 2015, and a tech demo of sorts was shown to attendees at the Game Developers Conference in 2017.
