Apple Arcade is like Netflix for mobile games and let you play games across any of your Apple devices. The service is expected to launch towards the end of the year and Apple says it will announce pricing at that event. The company says it has joined forces with some of the most innovative game developers around the world to deliver over 100 new games at launch.
Good news for families is that one subscription will give up to six family members access to the service. Apple also said there will be no ads and no in-app purchases. Games can be played offline too.
A few of the titles that will be available at launch include Beyond a Steel Sky, Lego Brawls, and the Pathless. Games on this platform will be aimed at improved storytelling and game design.
Showing off some impressive numbers, Apple says more than 1 billion people have downloaded games from the App Store to date. That number spans its 300,000 or so game titles.
Fan’s of Will Wright will also be glad to know there’s something coming from this legendary creator too.
