South Africa’s FIFA eNations Cup 2019 qualifier winners announced

The local FIFA eNations Cup 2019 qualifiers took place over the weekend, with 128 players competing for a shot at goal at the finals in London next month. The two winners of the event, one each on PS4 and Xbox One, have now been confirmed.

Thabo “Yvng Savage” Maloi of Goliath Gaming claimed victory on PS4, with a 7-5 victory against KingCJO_ in the Sunday playoffs.

“This was by far the most challenging qualifier I have competed in as there was so much to play for,” he says. “South Africa really has a quality FIFA scene and I’m sure with more opportunities like this one, we will be able to break out into the international scene and show the world what we’ve got.”

On Xbox One, Sinister5’s Ryan “Task Azi” Bastos only just beat out Unbilledtiara74 for the win, with a score of 2-1.

“Was a tough game against one of the best players in SA, if not the best, but luckily I took my chances well and came out on top,” he says. “Now I’m looking forward to representing South Africa on one of the biggest stages for FIFA.”
