Samsung delays the Galaxy Fold launch after multiple review units broke

Just days ahead of its expected 26 April release, Samsung has announced that its new $2000 smartphone is going back to lab for some “improvements” amid widespread reports of review units with busted screens, display problems, and other failures. Awkward.
“While many reviewers shared with us the vast potential they see, some also showed us how the device needs further improvements that could ensure the best possible user experience,” the company explains in the press stuff.
“Initial findings from the inspection of reported issues on the display showed that they could be associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge. There was also an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance.”
A revised launch date is not confirmed, but Samsung promises an update in the next two weeks.
