Bend Studio’s post-apocalyptic bike-’em-up launches tomorrow, but you can expect some extra free content drops in June, publisher Sony has confirmed. That includes a new Survival difficulty mode on top of the three already in the game, and new challenges to complete for trophies and unique custom cosmetics.
“Survival difficulty mode tests players by daring them to beat the story with increased difficulty settings, no fast travel or Survival Vision, and an immersive HUD that removes maps and indicators from the gameplay screen. Every tweak and change made is designed to further immerse players and ratchet up the tension to make this the definitive survival experience,” game director Jeff Ross explains on the PlayStation Blog.
“Each week beginning in June, a new Bike, Horde, or Combat challenge will be deployed to test players even further. These challenges take key gameplay features of Days Gone, and twists them in unique ways to earn additional items and rewards.”
My Days Gone review goes up at 14:00 today so you can find out more about the game then, but nuking fast travel? That’s going to make things haaaaard.
