Minecraft Classic now free to play from browsers for 10th anniversary

Travel back to 2009 with free Minecraft Classic

You can now play Minecraft Classic for free in your browser because it’s 10 years old and updates are for the weak.

In celebration of their 10 year anniversary, Mojang has released the original Minecraft Classic to play for free from your browser. This is the 2009 version, before a whole range of updates, bug-fixes, and expansions, so be prepared for a serious dose of “you can never go back”. You also only get 32 blocks, but did we mention it’s free?

To get a hit of that sweet, sweet nostalgia (you filthy little hipsters), launch a new game from here. Why not crank up the Black Eyed Peas, stream some Zombieland (it’s on Netflix now), and make it a whole thing, while you’re at it.
