Godzilla vs. Evangelion is yet another reason to visit Japan

If, like me and anyone else that’s super cool, you’re a fan of both Godzilla and Neon Genesis Evangelion, maybe it’s time to book a trip to Osaka to witness a battle for the ages, at Universal Studios Japan.

The latest interactive experience at Universal Studios Japan is Godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4D. You take on the role of government inspectors, sent to observe the city of Osaka-III, when your serious government business is cut short by the rampaging Godzilla (they do love a good rampage). Stepping in to lay down some epic smack are your favourites from Evangelion, Shinji, Asuka, and Rei – battle ensues. I imagine it all ends with some sick Atomic Blasts and an existential crisis.

If that’s not enough, there are also limited edition cookies and a popcorn bucket that looks like the disembodied head of an EVA-01 Godzilla hybrid i.e. rad. The show is on from 31 May to 25 August.

If you can’t get to Japan in time, I guess there’s always Godzilla II: King of the Monsters, which will be in cinemas from 31 May.
